Star Learner

Jakub from Year 4

Jakub has been chosen as Star Learner because he demonstrates a wonderful learning attitude. He has tried so hard recently and has been sent to show Mr Grosvenor his incredible work on five occasions already this year. He amazed everyone when he could translate a poem written in French, firstly, into English and then into Polish. What a linguist!

Football Champions.

On Wednesday 8th November, the School football team travelled to Writhlington School to play in the E.S.F.A. District Football Tournament. The winning school would represent BANES at the Somerset Finals in the next round.

Our first game was against Peasedown B; we won 1-0.

The second game was against St. John’s; we won 3-0.

The third game was against St. Nicks and again we won, this time it was 4-0.

We won our group without conceding a goal, resulting in us going to the semi-final –

that was against Midsomer Norton Primary that we happily won 4-0.

Then, the final…

We were up against Peasedown B (again), we played well and won 1-0.

This means we have won the tournament two years in a row, but this time without conceding a goal!!!

The team, who played some great passing football, were: Jack Maggs, David Knowles, Jessica Abbot, Archie Alexander, Archie Mears, Josh Kerton, Jayden Rowlands and Max Culverhouse (Captain).

As winners we now represent BANES at the Somerset Tournament in January.
