Jakub has been chosen as Star Learner because he demonstrates a wonderful learning attitude. He has tried so hard recently and has been sent to show Mr Grosvenor his incredible work on five occasions already this year. He amazed everyone when he could translate a poem written in French, firstly, into English and then into Polish. What a linguist!
Our Legendary Chair of Governors steps aside
Mr Jim Crouch, who has been our Chair of Governors for over 15 years, has decided to stand down as Chair (but I am delighted to say that he will remain on the board). Jim has been a wonderfully loyal and dedicated servant to the children of Paulton; he has actually been a member of the governing body for nearly 20 years. During his tenure he has overseen three OUTSTANDING Ofsted Inspections. (There would only be a small handful of Chairs nationwide who could claim that!); he has also been an integral part of the expansion of the school and, as Headteacher, I can say that he has been invaluable in the level of support and guidance that he has given to me. It must also be remembered that he has a family, three children, a full time job and YET he has VOLUNTEERED his own time to make sure that all of the children in Paulton get the best education possible. He is the sort of person who should have been recognised on The Queen’s New Year’s Honours list – he would certainly get a knighthood from me. I would like to take this opportunity to thank him publically on behalf of the thousands of children, parents and staff that have been part of the school during the last 20 years. His hard work behind the scenes has been quite incredible. His legacy will live on for future generations and because of his commitment to the school we are in a really strong place to continue to give an outstanding education to the children of Paulton. Thank you, Sir Jim.Back to headlines
