A huge well done to Rose who has been chosen as Star Learner. She has already been to Mr Grosvenor's office, to show her good work, three times this term. She was also part of the triumphant Paulton Junior School Netball Team who won the Midsomer Norton and District Games Association Netball Tournament. Congratulations Rose!
Paulton Junior provides a distinctive and very special education for its pupils.
The most striking thing about the school is its sense of community. An impressive partnership between adults and pupils, alongside trust and confidence in each other, encourages very good relationships and a real family atmosphere. Both teachers and pupils exude pride in being part of the school community. In this supportive and challenging learning culture, pupils thrive.’ Ofsted.
Our school sets out to establish a very good home/school partnership, which is vital in helping to support your child’s progress at school. A strong partnership means that each child is happy and confident in school and achieving well. This process begins before your child starts school through a thorough induction programme with the Infant School and via our induction evening and opportunities to visit the school in action.
The headteacher will always be pleased to meet with you and show you around the school.
Communication is crucial to a successful partnership and to this end our staff are very approachable and work to develop a strong partnership with parents at all stages of your child’s time in our school. Therefore, we have regular parents’ evenings, curriculum workshop events, termly curriculum letters, Open Door Friday, a texting service and a bi-weekly School Newsletter to keep you informed but it is being an open school with staff who are always available that really forms the basis of a solid home school partnership supporting each child.
We always welcome Parent helpers in school, who under safeguarding guidelines will be asked to complete a DBS form. If you feel this extremely beneficial volunteer help would suit you then please see your child’s teacher.Parents also become automatic members of the joint Parent Teacher Association (PTA). This thriving body help to raise crucial funds which benefit all the children at both the Infant and Junior Schools. Please speak to the school office if you are interested in getting involved.
