Term 3 started with our trip to the Life Skills Centre in Bristol. The children were faced with many different real-life dangerous scenarios in which they had to make choices. For example, making a call to the emergency services, choosing whether to retrieve an object from a train track and checking a till receipt to ensure they've been given the right change.
Our History topic this term is 'John Lennon and The Beatles' and the children have made an enthusiastic start to their learning. They may well be coming home singing, 'We all live in a yellow submarine'...
In Art we're looking at portraiture and the proportions of the face and body in order to create our own drawings. We've touched on how influential Leonardo Da Vinci's investigational drawings were to our understanding of anatomy and the work of other artists as scientists during the Renaissance.
P.E. this term is on a Tuesday and a Thursday and the children will be covering football and swimming (please make sure children have swimming hats and kits ready for these days).
6B's class assembly will be on Friday 27th January and any parents or carers that are able to come are more than welcome as always.
The countdown to Skern has officially begun with kit lists (see below) and medical forms going out at the end of the first week back. All groups, activities and room arrangements will be announced on the coach on the way down to Skern, to keep everyone on the edge of their seats! An additional kit list and departure/arrival details will follow in a letter shortly.
