Online Safety Newsletter Nov 2025

We are pleased to announce the publication of our November 2025 Online Safety Newsletter. Click here to read. Click here to listen to our Audio Overview.

This month, we are strongly urging all parents to read the feature article on Age Ratings. It provides a vital reminder that age ratings exist to protect children from unsuitable content.

The guide clearly shows that many of the most popular apps, such as TikTok, Snapchat, Discord, and WhatsApp, have a minimum age rating of 13+. The newsletter explains what these ratings mean and why it's so important to check them before your child uses an app or plays a game.

Other topics covered this month include:

  • CapCut: A review of the popular video editing app, which is also rated 13+. We highlight the risks of user-generated templates and access to music with explicit lyrics.

  • WhatsApp Updates: We explain the new "Channels" feature, which can expose children to adult content, and share tips for keeping school parent chat groups positive.

  • Online "Roasting": What this form of cyberbullying looks like and how to talk to your child about it.

Given the important focus on age ratings, we highly recommend you take a few minutes to read this newsletter in full.
