Paulton March Into the Plate Final After Six-Goal Sensation!

The afternoon sun shone brightly on Paulton Junior School today as our incredible girls’ football team delivered a spectacular, high-octane performance to secure a thumping 6-1 victory over Norton Hill Primary! Played in front of a packed, roaring crowd of passionate supporters from both schools, the atmosphere was absolutely electric from the very first whistle.

While the match began with a few tense, nervous moments, Paulton quickly shook off the cobwebs and found their rhythm in spectacular style. Clara broke the deadlock and settled the early anxiety, producing a brilliant burst through the centre of the pitch before unleashing a clinical strike to get Paulton off the mark. With the ice broken, the floodgates opened. Harper put on an absolute masterclass in finishing, tearing through the opposition's defence to net four brilliantly taken goals in a sensational display of attacking flair. Behind her, the midfield trio of Evelyn, Niya and Jessie completely dominated the centre of the pitch, dictating the tempo and suffocating any attempt at a Norton Hill fightback.
The victory was a true squad effort, driven by a relentless strategy of rolling substitutions that kept a constant supply of fresh legs on the pitch. Willow was an absolute machine, working tirelessly to track down attackers and reclaim possession in dangerous territory. Moving forward, Erin looked incredibly strong and confident on the ball, while Tega dazzled the crowd with her trademark skill, embarking on a series of wonderful, mazelike dribbles that pushed Paulton into advanced attacking positions time and time again.
When Norton Hill did manage to break through, they ran straight into a brick wall. Angel and Hannah put on a defensive clinic, pulling off a series of fantastic, decisive clearances to protect our increasingly dependable and confident goalkeeper, Maia. Even when the spirited Norton Hill goalkeeper made a heroic flurry of brilliant saves late in the game, Paulton refused to let up. Reacting with lightning-fast instincts, captain Evelyn pounced on a rebound to fire home a thoroughly deserved sixth and final goal.
This magnificent 6-1 triumph means our girls have officially booked their place in the highly anticipated Plate Final! Huge congratulations to the entire squad for their phenomenal teamwork, and a big well done to Norton Hill Primary for a fiercely competitive and spirited match.
