On a glorious, sun-drenched Thursday afternoon, Paulton Junior School boys delivered a masterclass in attacking football, overcoming Midsomer Norton Primary with an emphatic 11-1 victory. Under cloudless skies and cheered on by a vocal crowd of parents who brought incredible energy to the touchline, Paulton put on a clinical display from start to finish.
Over the next two weeks, schools from across Bath and North East Somerset will come together to celebrate Dance—a subject that champions creativity, imagination, expression, and above all, inclusivity. It’s an event we proudly support year after year, and our pupils once again showed exactly why.
Our Year 6 pupils hit all the right notes during their spectacular ukulele concert on March 27th! It was a joy to see the hall filled with parents and carers as our young musicians showcased their hard work and progress.
Led by the ever-encouraging and energetic Mr. Nosworthy from WEMA, the performance kicked off with a delightful rendition of Happy Birthday, featuring pupils playing both the chords and the melody simultaneously—no easy feat!
The energy stayed high as the group "rocked out" with a setlist of classics spanning the decades:
The House of the Rising Sun by The Animals
Wonderwall by Oasis
Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond (a crowd favourite that truly brought the house down!)
A huge well done to all of Year 6 for their enthusiasm and musicality. It was a fantastic morning of music that left everyone humming along!
What a spectacular day for our runners! On Thursday, 19th March, the BANES Schools Cross-Country Meet took place under glorious sunshine at Somervale School. The "Big Field" was a vibrant scene of energy and anticipation as our team gathered, ready to tackle the course.
Paulton Junior School Girls 3 - 0 St. Benedict’s
The Paulton Junior School girls put on a masterclass in teamwork and clinical finishing this week, securing a dominant 3-0 victory against St. Benedict’s in the Plate Competition. While the scoreline reflects a comfortable win, the match was a testament to the grit, spirit, and "never-say-die" attitude of the entire squad.
Paulton Junior School was overwhelmed by the enthusiasm shown during this year’s World Book Day celebrations. The children enjoyed a fun-filled day dedicated to a love of reading, taking part in a variety of workshops across the school.
A particular highlight was seeing the fantastic effort that went into the children’s costumes. Pupils were invited to dress as an adjective of their choice, and the creativity on display was truly impressive. It was a wonderful celebration of the rich vocabulary that brings our favourite stories to life.
We would also like to thank you for sending in photos of the children’s reading experiences at home, as part of the homework task. It has been wonderful to see how reading continues beyond the classroom and plays such an important part in home life. Your support in nurturing a love of reading is greatly appreciated.
Keeping up with the digital world can feel like a marathon, but we are here to help you cross the finish line! Our latest online safety resources are now available, including the February 2026 Newsletter, a convenient Audio Overview, and a special guide from the Children’s Commissioner.
As we are officially in March, please excuse the slightly late arrival of the February edition—on the plus side, you’ll get two updates this month as the March newsletter will follow in just a couple of weeks!
What an incredible week our Year 6 adventurers had at Skern Lodge in Appledore, Devon! From conquering towering challenges to mastering new skills, our pupils embraced every moment with enthusiasm, resilience, and an abundance of smiles.
Year 6 recently enjoyed a fantastic trip to The Holburne Museum in Bath, immersing themselves in the world of Ancient Greece.
On 14 January, our school choir took to the stage at the Young Voices 2026 concert at the BP Pulse Live Arena in Birmingham. The children joined thousands of young singers from across the country to create one huge massed choir — an unforgettable evening full of music, teamwork and joy as they performed a varied and exciting set of songs they’ve been rehearsing since the start of the year.
On Thursday 29th February, Team Paulton headed to the badminton tournament at Wellsway Schhool with plenty of excitement – and what a debut it was! Representing Paulton Junior School were Maia, Isaac, Hannah and Ben, competing in mixed doubles partnerships (Maia & Isaac, Ben & Hannah).
