Paulton Girls Show Spirit in Narrow 2–1 Defeat

Our Paulton girls’ football team put in a brave and determined performance against St Vigors, despite a narrow 2–1 defeat. The team worked tirelessly from kick-off, showing excellent teamwork and resilience throughout the match.

St Vigors scored twice in the first half, both through superb solo runs by their talented striker. Despite this, our girls regrouped at half-time and came out fighting in the second half, showing real determination and belief as they pushed to get back into the game.

Their hard work paid off with a well-worked team move, finished in style by Tega, who fired an excellent long-range drive low to the keeper’s right. Willow then came agonisingly close to earning us a late draw, forcing a tense finish as Paulton continued to press, create chances and defend bravely right up to the final whistle.

Although the result didn’t go our way, the performance was full of spirit, grit and promise. Well done to all the players — a display to be proud of!
