Paulton Power! Goal Fest Under the Sun as Boys Secure Emphatic Win

On a glorious, sun-drenched Thursday afternoon, Paulton Junior School boys delivered a masterclass in attacking football, overcoming Midsomer Norton Primary with an emphatic 11-1 victory. Under cloudless skies and cheered on by a vocal crowd of parents who brought incredible energy to the touchline, Paulton put on a clinical display from start to finish.
The scoreline reflected Paulton’s dominance, but the foundation was built on a rock-solid defence. Jude was exceptional in goal, maintaining focus throughout and was only beaten once by a speculative strike that took a lucky bounce to balloon over his head. In front of him, captain Leo led by example, acting as an immovable object in the heart of the defence, while Eli provided a defensive masterclass with perfectly timed challenges. In the latter stages of the game, Jacob moved back to join the backline, proving absolutely uncompromising and ensuring Midsomer Norton found no way through.
In the middle of the park, Paulton were untouchable. Ethan was the conductor of the orchestra, commanding the midfield and racking up a brilliant hat-trick while constantly feeding his teammates with pinpoint assists. He was well-supported by Jack, who was equally secure in both midfield and defence, capping off his industrious performance with a stunning solo goal.
The attacking threat was relentless throughout. Jacob was a constant menace up front in the first half, getting his name on the scoresheet with a well-taken goal. He was joined in the forward line by Tommy, whose elusive movement and tireless running saw him come agonisingly close to scoring on numerous occasions.
On the flanks, Rheon was a persistent threat from the right, bagging a well-deserved brace, while Louie stole the show with a magnificent hat-trick, including a sensational "screamer" from the left touchline. The team spirit was perfectly encapsulated by Adam, who made himself available all afternoon and was rewarded with his first-ever goal for the school—a moment that drew one of the loudest cheers of the day.
With a final score of 11-1, Paulton Junior School can be immensely proud of a performance defined by clinical finishing, defensive discipline, and fantastic teamwork.
