Equality and Diversity

All staff and governors are committed to working together to provide a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment to ensure every pupil is part of the school community, whatever their ability or need. Our school vision and values are designed to ensure that the school meets the needs of all, taking account gender, race, ethnicity, culture, religion, language, sexual orientation, age, ability, disability and social circumstances.

It is vital that we value cultural diversity, meet the diverse needs of pupils to ensure inclusion and ensure that all pupils are prepared for full participation in an equal, respectful society.

Paulton Junior School have signed up to the B&NES Race Equalities Charter for Schools, showing our commitment to the following aims:

  • challenging racism and racial harassment
  • promoting race equality and cultural diversity
  • fostering good race relations

We aim to provide an appropriate curriculum for all pupils and each area of the curriculum is planned to incorporate the principles of equality and to promote positive attitudes to diversity.
