HOLBURNE MUSEUM VISIT

A group of children from Year 3 and Year 4 were immersed in the vibrant colours and mesmerising patterns of Lubaina Himid’s textiles at The Holburne Museum, Bath, yesterday.

They made observational drawings of shapes found within the materials created by this British artist, born in Zanzibar. Using these sketches for inspiration, the children then created unique block printed designs. What a fantastic opportunity to create artwork within the beautiful Holburne Museum!

Being one of just five partnership schools to The Holburne, our children were able to take up this fantastic opportunity.

‘With their faultless manners and spirited enthusiasm, our children were a sheer delight to take, ‘ says Mrs Pearson - Holburne Museum Partnership Leader.
