Pupil Premium

🌟 Welcome to Paulton Junior School's Pupil Premium Page! 🌟

Don’t let your child miss out!

Did you know that extra funding could be available to help your child’s learning and development?

What is the Pupil Premium (PP)?

The Pupil Premium is extra government money, which is paid to school to support  children’s learning and development. Our school can choose how to best spend the Pupil Premium money and we will work with families to ensure your child benefits from the extra funding.

Eligibility Criteria

Schools receive money for each pupil of compulsory school age, who fit the eligibility criteria.

There are four categories of eligibility for primary aged pupils, with different amounts of funding attached:

· Pupils in year groups EYFS to Y6, who are in receipt of Free School Meals (£1,455)

· Pupils deemed as ‘Looked After Children’, i.e. those in the care of the local authority (£2,530)

· Pupils previously cared for by the Local Authority (£2,530)

· Pupils with parents in the regular armed forces (£335)

Your child might be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following: ·

· Income Support

· Income-Based Jobseeker’s Allowance

· Income-Related Employment and Support Allowance

· Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

· The Guaranteed Element of Pension Credit

· Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190) ·

· Working Tax Credit Run-On (Paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)

· Universal Credit (Your household income must be less than £7,400 a year - after tax and not including any benefits you get)

· One parent is serving in the regular armed forces (including the full-time reserve service); if the child is registered a ‘service child’ in the past 6 years; or a parent has passed away whilst serving in the armed forces and the pupil receives a pension under the Armed Forces Compensation or the War Pensions Scheme.

What additional support will my child  receive?

In addition, pupils in receipt of Pupil Premium will also receive additional support during their time at Paulton Junior School including financial support with school trips or residential visits.

(Please note that this is assessed on an individual basis. Please contact the office to make a request).

With the help of the additional funding, our school is enabled to provide further support across the school:

· Additional adults and staff to provide precision teaching, small group support and individualised programmes as necessary

· Additional programmes and resources including online applications and  assessment programmes

· High quality teaching and individual assessment across the curriculum

· Structured interventions, tutoring and mentoring opportunities and homework support.

· Additional extra-curricular activities and clubs to promote a wide range of skills

This invaluable support helps us to improve the outcomes for children and continue to provide a high quality education and improved wellbeing for all pupils and parents.

Each year, a report of how the Pupil Premium Funding has been allocated will be published on the school website and reported to the school Governing Body.

In addition to the above, further financial support may be available.

Please contact the school office for more information about how to apply for Pupil Premium Funding.
